Thread Recruitment is proud to partner with Fire Risk Consultants in the search for an experienced Office & Operations Administrator to support the business through its next stage of growth.
Fire Risk Consultants is a specialist bushfire risk and emergency management consultancy business supporting critical industries and communities across Australia.
This is a hands-on operational support role with an immediate focus on accounts payable/receivable and payroll administration, while progressively supporting coordination, reporting, workflow tracking, and broader office operations.

What You’ll Be Doing
Working closely with the Business Manager, you’ll help maintain strong operational structure and support the day-to-day running of the business.
Responsibilities include:
Managing accounts payable and receivable
Processing payroll and supporting invoicing workflows
Maintaining financial administration records and reporting trackers
Supporting project coordination and workflow visibility
Assisting with onboarding and broader business administration
Preparing, formatting, proofing, and quality-checking documents
Maintaining organised records, systems, and operational trackers
Supporting continuous improvement across workflows and processes
Assisting with fleet coordination, servicing logistics, and evolving office support functions
Who You Are
You’re someone who naturally takes ownership and enjoys bringing structure to fast-moving environments.
You’re practical, highly organised, calm under pressure, and the type of person who notices what needs doing without waiting to be asked. You’re comfortable working autonomously, managing competing priorities, and supporting a team that values reliability, initiative, and follow-through.
You’ll ideally bring:
5–8 years’ experience across administration, payroll, accounts, or operational support roles
Strong hands-on AP/AR and payroll experience
Experience using Xero or similar accounting software
Strong Microsoft Office capability, particularly Word and Excel
High attention to detail and strong written communication skills
A practical, solutions-focused mindset
A manual driver’s licence, required for support with fleet managememt
Backgrounds in office administration, operational support, payroll/accounts, business support, or project coordination will be highly regarded.

The role will initially commence on a part-time basis (30.4 hours per week), with flexibility around how those hours are structured and long-term potential for the role to grow over time.
